标题: Unveiling spatiotemporal patterns of urban ecosystem services flows in urban thermal environments: Insights from residency, age, and gender disparities

摘要: The Exploration of the spatiotemporal patterns of urban ecosystem services (UES) flows in thermal environment plays a significant role in mitigating heat-related hazards. Variations in UES flows emerge across demographic groups due to divergent service demands. However, few studies have examined the spatiotemporal patterns of UES flows, considering the demographic combinations of residents and non-residents within the urban thermal environment. In the conceptual framework of UES, this study analyzed the mobility patterns of six demographic combinations among different heat exposure areas using mobile phone data. Results showed that: (1) teenagers and older residents exhibited distinct spatiotemporal patterns in their demographic combinations with other age groups within educational institutes (or communal spaces) during the afternoon and evening; (2) a broader scope of movement among male and female residents compared with non-residents during the evening. (3) all demographic combinations of non-residents inclined to cluster near the riverbank for leisure activities during the evening; and (4) residents and non-residents are scarce in the outer areas of the Wuhan Urban Development Zone, particularly near transportation hubs and the logistics ports. Overall, this study provides implications for government and urban planners to establish heat mitigation policies and develop heat resilience cities.
